NY Empire FC Hosts U.S. Men’s Amputee National Team for Memorable Night of Soccer and Solidarity

This past Saturday evening at the SUSA Sports Complex, NY Empire FC proudly hosted the United States Men’s National Amputee Soccer Team for a night that was about more than just the game — it was about unity, resilience, and community.

Despite less-than-ideal weather conditions, spirits were high as the U.S. Amputee team was welcomed onto the field prior to kickoff against Brooklyn FC. U.S. captain Nico Calabria greeted the crowd with a heartfelt message, thanking fans for their support as his team prepares to represent the country in World Cup qualifiers this summer in Mexico.

Once the match began, NY Empire FC gave the fans plenty to cheer for. Tim de Meij opened the scoring just before halftime, giving Empire a 1-0 lead going into the break. But the biggest moment of the halftime festivities came when the Empire players and representatives from club sponsor Liga De Justicia surprised the U.S. Amputee National Team with a $1,000 donation to support their World Cup journey. The stadium erupted in applause, and fans had the opportunity to meet the players, take photos, and collect autographs from these inspirational athletes.

The second half continued the celebration on the pitch. Keirol Aaron extended Empire’s lead, and his brother Keiquon Aaron added two more goals to seal a convincing 4-1 victory for the home side.

After the final whistle, both teams gathered at midfield in a beautiful moment of camaraderie. Together, they chanted:“1, 2, 3 EMPIRE — 4, 5, 6 USA!”

It was a night to remember — not just for the result, but for the bond formed between two teams representing excellence, heart, and hope on very different stages.
