NY Empire FC to Host U.S. Men’s Amputee National Team at June 7 Home Match

This Saturday, June 7, NY Empire FC will proudly host the U.S. Men’s Amputee National Soccer Team at its final regular season home match against Brooklyn FC. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM at SUSA Sports Complex, and the night promises to be a celebration of unity, resilience, and the beautiful game.

The U.S. Amputee National Team is in town for a summer training camp as they prepare for the Amputee World Cup Qualifiers this fall in Mexico. NY Empire FC is honored to welcome these world-class athletes as special guests and showcase their inspiring journey to fans and supporters across Long Island.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the U.S. Amputee National Team to our match,” said NY Empire FC Head Coach Max Ferro. “Their grit, passion, and commitment to the game embody everything we stand for as a club. It's a powerful reminder of how soccer connects and uplifts communities.”

Led by Head Coach Jason Fiscina, the U.S. team is deep into preparations for the 2025 Amputee World Cup. The training camp marks a critical moment in their build-up toward international competition, and this weekend's match offers a chance to connect with the broader soccer community.

“Our guys are incredibly excited to be here,” said Fiscina. “To train in a high-performance environment and be recognized by clubs like NY Empire is a huge boost for the program. We’re grateful for the platform to show what our team is about.”

Fans will have the opportunity to meet members of the national team, learn more about amputee soccer, and support their journey. The American Amputee Soccer Association continues to expand access and awareness of the sport, empowering athletes across the country to compete at the highest level. More information about their mission and programs can be found at www.usampsoccer.org.

U.S. National Team Captain Nico Calabria expressed his appreciation for the opportunity:“Events like this are so meaningful. They not only help grow the game but also inspire the next generation of adaptive athletes. We’re proud to represent our country and grateful to NY Empire for opening their doors to us.”

Saturday night will also feature music, kids’ games, face painting, and giveaways, making it a family-friendly celebration to remember. With playoff seeding on the line and the chance to support a national team with an incredible story, fans won’t want to miss it.

Come early, wear your black and yellow, and join us in cheering on both our hometown heroes and the stars of Team USA.
