Cooper Flax made an immediate impact in his debut for NY Empire FC, delivering a pinpoint assist to Mason Chetti for the opening goal in a 2-2 draw against Braveheart SC. The match marked a strong professional start for the former NYCFC Academy standout and Wake Forest University All-American.

Flax’s vision and composure were on full display as he threaded a perfect ball through the midfield to Chetti, setting the tempo early and establishing himself as a creative force in the NY Empire lineup.

A native of New York, Flax began his soccer career with East Meadow SC on Long Island before moving on to the NYCFC Academy. There, he developed under top-tier coaching, eventually training with NYCFC’s first team during preseason—valuable experience that set the stage for his professional rise. Though still contracted with NYCFC, Flax is gaining additional match experience with NY Empire FC as part of his development pathway.

At the collegiate level, Flax stars for Wake Forest University, where he was named an All-American and a key contributor in the Demon Deacons’ midfield. He earned All-ACC Tournament honors for his pivotal performances.

With a resume that includes top-flight academy experience, collegiate accolades, and now a successful professional debut, Flax is quickly becoming one to watch in American soccer. His seamless transition to NY Empire FC bodes well for his future—whether back with NYCFC or on a broader professional stage.
